Day 179
Wander lust does pull us deep
To the places where we creep
Standards we can barely keep
Wander lust we crave, we seek
All do wander
All do wonder
Only God can make true thunder
Lightening sears
Through lust and pain
Bringing hearts to
His loving reign
Wander lust leads down the trail
Lust pulls to places where we fail
His Hand comes forth and opens wide
For us all to safely hide.
All do wander
All do wonder
Only God can make the thunder
Lightening sears
Through lust and pain
Bringing hearts to
His loving reign
Wander lust seeks one seeks all
To its altar we will fall
Eyes are bleary teary tired
Looking throws us on hot fire
All do wander
All do wonder
Only God can make the thunder
Lightening sears
Through lust and pain
Bringing hearts to
His loving reign
Human bodies flesh on bones
God makes beauty from hard stone
Looking up is all He asks
For wander lust to surely pass
All do wander
All do wonder
Only God can make the thunder
Lightening sears
Through lust and pain
Bringing hearts to
His loving reign
Only He can take our eyes
Weary bleary full of sighs
Wander lust goes far and deep
God does care our hearts he'll keep
All do wander
All do wonder
Only God can make the thunder
Lightening sears
Through lust and pain
Bringing hearts to
His loving reign
Wander lust goes deep and far
Planes and trains and fancy cars
Clothes and handbags, homes and sports
Entertainment of all sorts
All do wander
All do wonder
Only God can make the thunder
Lightening sears
Through lust and pain
Bringing hearts to
His loving reign
Spirit eyes wander to His throne
Where wonder, awe and mercy roam
He died one day His flesh in pain
To heal our eyes and make us sane.
All do wander
All do wonder
Only God can make the thunder
Lightening sears
Through lust and pain
Bringing hearts to
His loving reign
postscript: I really had a hard time putting in "we". I wanted it to be generic. I didn't think I had a problem. As I was writing this, God made clear to me that all of us have an issue with lust in one way or another. I am to own it. To own it is to confront it and then to repent.
